Little Sunshine

Our little Eleanor is always smiling and laughing. She is such a little sunshine. When she laughs, she laughs so hard, it makes all of us laugh. We'll be sure to try to get some video of her laughing away soon! When she is not laughing, she is happy to watch her big sister in action and observe everything around her. It has been such fun watching our little baby grow bigger and sweeter each day.

Next Mia Hamm?

Learning how to kick the ball into the goal
Coach Brian and Coach Jeff working with the group
"That girl took MY BALL from me!!!"  She didn't really get that that was the point of soccer and that it wasn't "her ball"! I know it was a little mean to take her picture while she was upset, but it was kind of funny!

Not quite Mia Hamm yet! Caroline had her first soccer practice today! She seemed to have fun even though she spent a lot of time picking flowers, digging in a dirt pile on the field, running away from the group and crying when someone took the ball from her. It was a bit hard explaining to her that the point of soccer is to "take" the ball away from someone and kick it in the goal! All and all she said that she had a good time and asked if she could have some "soccer shoes" , a.k.a. cleats. We'll see how it goes next week. Her first game is Sat. March 8, so we'll be sure to post more pictures then.

Nana's New Song

Nana taught Caroline a new song called "Wags". Caroline LOVES the song and has been singing it over and over. Here is some video of her singing the song with Nana, except I had the camera turned when I was taking it and I can't get it to rotate! It's still really cute though!

Nana and Papa came to visit and we had so much fun! Daddy and Papa took Caroline to the park and helped her on her scooter. We celebrated Mommy's 31st birthday together with Caroline choosing the cake before the lunch and helping blow out the candles. Nana and Papa kept Eleanor laughing and laughing! Caroline learned a new song from Nana and Nana also took her to pick out new sneakers! Mommy even got some much needed ALONE time while Nana watched the girls! Thanks for a great visit Nana and Papa! We all had so much fun!

Feb. Update

Pictures and video of the girls from February. They are getting so big I can't believe it!

Eleanor in her "Aunt Kelly" outfit
The firemen came to visit Caroline's preschool today. She wanted me to take a picture of her wearing the hat they gave her.
Then she wanted me to take a picture of her "with her house".
And opening the door....

Caroline is getting a lot better at riding her tricycle. She no longer asks us to push her up the street!
"Mom, I look coo!"
Eleanor in her usual pose, hand in her mouth. Although this week, she has figured out how to just get the thumb in. She usually does not like a pacifier.

Back to the Routine

I feel like ever since Eleanor had RSV in Dec. that someone has been sick in our house. It makes it very hard to stay on top of things. For the past two weeks everyone was sick. You know it's bad when the pharmacist at our local Walgreen's knows you by sight and name.Brett and I had colds that turned into sinus infections. Caroline had pink eye and then passed it to Ella who also got a cold. I swear, my littlest has been sick way too much for a four month old. 3 ear infections already, RSV and a cold is just ridiculous! Ever since this last cold, Ella has been waking up about 3-4 times each night b/c she is having trouble breathing through her nose and then fusses for sometimes up to an hour. I'm sure that Brett and I would have been feeling better a lot sooner, had me been getting SOME sleep! Hopefully, now that she seems to be feeling better the last couple of days, she'll sleep better.
I'll have to post some new pictures and video soon though. I have some cute ones from the last couple of weeks.

Eleanor at 3 1/2 months

Eleanor rolled over for the first time on Friday! She wasn't very happy about it though. She does not like being on her tummy! She also does not like pacifiers. We have tried from the beginning to soothe her with a pacifier and every time it just gets spit right back out. She would much rather try to suck on her entire fist instead!
Eleanor is getting so big and at a Dr.'s appt. last week she was 14 lbs. 3 oz! She is doing great sleeping at night. SHe usually goes to sleep around 9p, and will sleep until about 4:30-6am for another bottle. She'll go right back to sleep when she is done eating for about another 2-3 hours. We're just working on getting into a nap schedule. It's definitely a lot harder with the second child and getting them on a nap schedule, when you already have a toddler that needs to be active in the morning! I have a feeling Eleanor's morning nap will usually be on the go (otherwise I'd be stuck home all day!) while I have been trying to put both Caroline and Eleanor down for afternoon naps at about 1:30pm.
She is a very happy baby and has been laughing out loud more and more, which makes us laugh out loud, too! It has been a lot of fun seeing our littlest one grow!
