Sitting Up

Eleanor has been perfecting sitting up. While her Grandma was here, she bought her a Bumbo to sit in, which gave her some more practice. Now she can sit up for up to a minute by herself before falling over to the side or on to her tummy. Of course now that I go to put pictures up of her sitting by herself, I can't find any. I'll work on that...

Eating from a Spoon

Eleanor had her first experience eating from a spoon today and she did a great job! She seemed to catch on right away and ate quite a bit!

Grandma and Grandpa

Caroline and Eleanor's Grandma and Grandpa came to visit for Eleanor's baptism. It was great for them to see how big Eleanor has gotten since Christmas and to spend some time with Caroline, too.

Easter Bunny Comes to Visit

The Easter bunny came for a visit and brought baskets for all 5 children staying at the Oswick house. The kids had a great time searching for their baskets and playing at the park together.

Eleanor's Baptism

Eleanor was baptized at the candlelit Easter vigil service at our church on March 22. She wore a christening gown that my mother made from her own wedding dress (which she also made), the same dress that Caroline wore when she was baptized two years ago. Her godparents, her Uncle Ron and Aunt Kerri were there along with her Grandma and Grandpa. The service was beautiful and Eleanor did a great job-no tears

Singing "Happy Birthday" to Grandma

Yesterday was Grandma's birthday. Caroline was very excited to celebrate her Grandma's birthday, but more importantly, in the mind of an almost three year old, she was very excited to eat Grandma's birthday cake. We had Grandma open her presents before we left for the baptism, but because we would be getting home late, we decided to eat birthday cake for Easter dinner dessert instead. The four older children were really looking forward to the chocolate cake with chocolate ice cream. We set the ice cream cake out on the counter to let it defrost a bit before cutting it. Kerri and I were in the kitchen rinsing off dishes when Caroline came into the kitchen asking where Grandma's cake was. I told her it was on counter and turned back around towards the sink. All the sudden, we heard a crash and a cry. Before I even turned around I KNEW that Caroline knowcked the cake on to the floor! Sure enough, Caroline is sitting on the floor crying in her Easter dress next to the upside down cake. Well, let me tell you, we doctored up that cake put some sprinkles on top (great idea, Kerri!) and served it up. Kerri and I were laughing so hard, we had to preserve the memory on film. Oh, and Caroline stopped crying pretty quickly when she realized that Mommy and Aunt Kerri weren't screaming.

Here are some pictures from the egg hunt Caroline and her cousins did in our neighborhood park.  Our neighborhood puts on an egg hunt each year for all the children.

Eleanor's Baptism Brunch

We had a brunch for Eleanor the morning of her baptism. Family and friends joined us at our home to celebrate our special day.

The Cousins Come Visit

We had been telling Caroline for days that her cousins from NJ, Dylan (6), Brady (4) and Hailey (2), were coming to visit. She was so excited and couldn't wait until they got her with Uncle Ron (Brett's brother) and Aunt Kerri. Ron and Kerri were asked to be Eleanor's godparents, so they all came down for a visit for Eleanor's baptism and to celebrate Easter with us. The kids had a great time visiting the Houston Rodeo, participating in 2 Easter egg hunts, and going with Uncle Brett to tour NASA Houston. Thanks for coming down guys; we had a blast!

Sucking Toes

Eleanor has discovered that she can put her feet in her mouth. Sucking on her toes is now her new favorite past time. She's gotten quite good at it!

Getting Ready for the Big Day

This last one is the one we used for her birthday invitation.

We have been talking to Caroline a lot about her third birthday that is coming up and she keeps trying to practice trying to hold up just three finger (it's hard for a little one!). She has decided to have a "cowgirl" themed party (She keeps telling us she wants to be a cowgirl when she grows up!). Here is the picture that went out on her invitation along with a couple others.

So hold on to your horses, we'll post some pictures of Cowgirl Caroline's "Day at the Ranch" after April 12!
